It is the mission of the Bolivar Housing Authority to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes.
Established in 1962, the Bolivar Housing Authority provides affordable housing opportunities. Bolivar Housing Authority is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners and manages 119 Public Housing units. Housing is provided to eligible low-income individuals, multifamily, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The housing programs at Bolivar Housing Authority are income-based, and the eligibility guidelines are set by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Bolivar Housing Authority does not participate in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), previously known as the Section 8 Program, and we are not equipped to accommodate Emergency Housing."
